This blog is created by Julene Reed, Director of Academic Technology at St. George’s Independent School, Collierville, TN.

My Role at St. George’s
I oversee the laptop program at St. George’s middle school and upper school campus. I provide professional development for the teachers, and I work with students on digital projects. I also coordinate videoconferences for our school.

Other Endeavors
I am an Apple Distinguished Educator, and I serve on the ADE Advisory Board. I am also on Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Advisory Council. I travel internationally, presenting workshops and keynote speeches on global education and technology in education. I am also actively involved in writing curriculum for Apple’s education division. I work with Roots & Shoots groups and schools at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro and other areas of Tanzania. I am involved in many projects related to both Tanzania and Nepal. I traveled to Gombe this past summer to observe the chimpanzees that Dr. Jane studied for so many years.

I also am currently involved with Polar Bears, International and will be traveling in early November to work with that group and observe the polar bear migration.
